I sit in tears on the couch holding a wrist brace moving the velcro from one position to the next so it’s comfortable and relieving the pain I have.
Then I wonder, is this what my life is supposed to look like too. Moving from one position to the next so it’s comfortable and relieving the pain I am going through?
I am in control of where I place the velcro on my wrist brace for it to be comfortable for my wrist and to feel less pain. The brace supports my wrist and relieves some of the pain. Velcro also has a roughness to it that we particularly do not like to touch because it isn’t pleasant to the touch, but the purpose of the brace and the velcro is to help us right? This sounds crazy, I know. Ask yourself, have you ever wondered where your support is to help relieve the pain your heart is going through? As easily as the Velcro moves and stays on the brace where we place it, why don’t those who were placed in our path stay in place to support us and help us through the pain? Why do the situations or people in our lives have that roughness to them that isn’t pleasant to our hearts, or even to the touch? Why would God allow this? Why does life allow it? Are we in control of it? Is God in control of it? Our family? Friends?
Our decisions, daily, must be made on what posture we want our day to unfold as.
I am not in control of those that left for whatever reason they have. If you are in a situation where you feel alone, feel as though the “best friend” you’ve confided in has turned his or her back on you. Or family isn’t supporting you. Trust this…” The Lord said to Gideon, “I will deliver you with the 300 men who lapped and will give the Midianites into your hands; so let all the other go, each man to his home.” (Judges 7:7)
God gave Gideon victory over mighty enemies with a small army of faithful servants, His children do not need 10,000 soldiers to win life’s battles. When God is in control, He removes those that are unfaithful and fills the void in our lives with the faithful few.
Just as the Velcro Moves, so do the people in our lives, our situations change, we move, we change, we grow, our journey is meant for living. What is meant to be for a season, is just that…a season.
Move your Velcro to a comfortable place that is healing for you and once healed, move it again, and again and again, until you are out of the dark and living a life of freedom, a life of joy and fullness.
I am enough, you are enough!
