The Power of Christ

Let your guard down.  Let go and let God.  It’s in God’s hands.  It’ll be okay.  Have faith.  God’s got this.

Haven’t we all heard our friends and family say this to us?  I am first to admit, I have even shared these same short blurbs to my very own friends and family.  While each one is a very true short and to the point statement, personally, I struggle with each of them.  Now, I am a firm follower of Christ, and I do have Faith, the reality is, I am of the flesh as is everyone on earth.  The golden question, “how do you know when to…?”

When you think about what’s happening in your circle of struggles, it’s difficult to consider that you might not be able to move forward.  The truth, we are all incapable of moving forward on our own.  However, we can move forward when we have God within us.  He is who makes us strong, He is who makes us extraordinary.

I have experienced recently the Power of Christ within my heart.  I like to think that I have been transformed, that Christ love has changed me.  I see a diverse group of people, a culture that I am certainly not accustomed to.  In seeing this, I am reminded that regardless of where we come from or where we have been, we are all hurting and we all face difficult times.  A nice, wealthy kid with burns on his face, and no fingers to use, yet, is part of society, finding his strength every day to be a part of this world. A mom who struggles every day just trying to make ends meet, feed her kids and find a steady place to call home, yet, is part of society finding her strength every day to be part of this world.  Two different worlds, yet facing life struggles. Every day, they wake up and they face the challenge that is still there and they push forward embracing that day and that moment.  Each day, they wake up and do what needs to be done for that day…and they do it with strength, with motivation, ultimately with the Power of Christ.

Next time someone is coming to you and they are struggling with something, please don’t give them just empty words, or the blurbs previously talked about at the beginning of this blog.  Give them hope, give them love, give them a hug, give them a word of encouragement.  The statements above, yes, they have truth to them, sometimes, though, they can be empty because they are repeated over and over.  Utilize the power of Christ that is within you to show the deeper love and encouragement that He provided you. He has equipped you!

“The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:20-21).

We are not here to make a difference in our lives first, we are here to make a difference in the lives of others through the almighty power that Christ gave to us through faith.

2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

Let us be weak among the world to show who our true strength comes from.  The power of Christ.

Ephesians 4:24 “Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.”

Blessings Abundantly, hugs and love!

Jesus Strong ❤
